My husband is a computer tech so we have a very good computer and CD-Rom player. Some of the other CDs simply don't read correctly and pop up with error messages.
I have lost most of these photos forever. I made the mistake of recording photos from my digital camera onto the KHypermedia 80 min/700mb CD-R discs.
They have not been stored in the sun or near any heat source. Some of the CDs that I had put labels onto began to peel and the CD peeled with the label making it completely useless.
Some of the CDs began to turn yellow for no reason. I've had to try and copy what photos I could onto new brand name CD-Rs by Memorex but most of the photos are simply lost and irreplaceable.
It is not user error - it's simply poor quality and I would not recommend buying anything from this company.
I have never had a bad disk out of any of the 4 boxes i have bought. I trust these cd's with my own band's projects. Simply the best product for the price.
We've used hundreds of these disks without a single dud.I think those having problems should check thier recorders.If you haven't used this brand before you might want to buy a small quantity first to see if your recorder has a problemwith this type, or color ( not sure color makes a difference or not)disk.We've found these to be a great value.
I bought the Khypermedia CD-R 50 pack, the cd space was mentioned 700MB but my drive ( khypermedia drive) always complains about its size if the data > 640MB. Later on I tried to call merchant and complain about its size they said we will take it back if it is not opened and used which is not possible. I tried to call Khpermedia service center but the phone was never picked up. I left 3 voice mails no response after 4 months. At last I end up with paying more for less space. Amazon beware of this product.
I emailed Khypermedia about it and the next week I had eleven replacements. I'm about to finish my third box of the 200 pack. Ability to burn at maximum speed is over-rated what with the basic overhead of burning at the beginning and end of the process. I assume I must've had a coaster or two in there somewhere but can't say for sure - certainly no major problems. The one problem I had was with eleven blanks together with every other one flipped - looked weird, had the logo printed on the wrong side. So they take four minutes to burn instead of three, big deal. If you're burning video (SVCD's for example), you shouldn't be going anywhere near maximum speeds anyway.
